wormy!

out of the kindness of my heart (haha), i cooked dinner for my sick mother...she was having fever due to some throat infection.

broccoli, carrots and macaroni with a little chicken stock in soup...got fish also lah, but i didn't cook it with the soup.


doesn't look appealing but i think it's a healthy dish though!

i was really enjoying the fruits of my labour when...

to my horror...

THIS CREEPY LITTLE THING APPEARED ON MY SPOON!



*SCREAMS*

i lost all my appetite. my mom tried to assure me that it was cooked already so it's ok to eat. that made me shiver even more.
i can't believe i just ate something a freaky green tiny worn swam in. blearghhh! *vomits*

i'm so not a fan of creepy crawlies. they're so...you noe, crawly and creepy...
i barely ate half of the dish! thank God my fish was separately cooked.

obviously, the wormy came from the broccoli! broccolies are like my favourite vegetables and i was savouring my broccoli so heartily until that eekky worm had to show itself.
couldn't it like hide itself between the macaronies or amongst the broccoli florets so i can eat peacefully without knowing i just ate a worm?!

NOW I OFFICIALLY HATE BROCCOLIES!
sorry broccolies, it's not that i have anything against you. i love you a lot but if you're gonna continue to let green creepy worms live amongst your abundant fleshy green flower heads/florets...it's over between us.

i hope researchers doing R&D in the broccoli industry or something will find a solution to make broccolies 100% worm-free. until then, i'm not eating broccolies. which will be i dunno when.

i'll miss you broccolies!
